Also when you scroll the mouse from one screen to the other it just moves smoothly carrying the keyboard along with it. My point is, with "barrier KVM" if you have a super-fast link there is literally no noticable latency. I only ever "switch" the screen between the two (though sometimes I keep the laptop screen for itself and the monitor for the desktop) as for the keyboard and mouse you don't really need to switch: just scroll in the direction of the other screen and the keyboard follows it automatically (or press the hotkey you configured to move across withou scrolling). What bothers me is that normally I have the old Solar K750 + MX Anywhere connected to a unifying receiver on my Linux box and when I dock my laptop, the two are literally on the same Gbps switch with really high bandwidth between them making movement across the two with barrier a breeze.

So thank you, really appreciate you took the time to reply. I guess really need to try this out somewhere, and see how it feels for myself before I go ahead with the purchase. £180 is a lot of money (I was looking at the MX Keys and the MX Anywhere 2S) for a "test" of something I may not like. So it takes "seconds" as in more than 1? That actually makes me even more reluctant now.
